Francis, Nelson & Brison Appoints Client Development Chairperson
Natalie Schaefer to oversee client services and practice development initiatives
CHARLESTON, WV (February 1, 2010) -- M. Andrew Brison, Member and Chief Operations Officer of Francis, Nelson & Brison PLLC announced today that Natalie C. Schaefer has been chosen to lead the client service and development activities of the law firm.
In addition to practicing law, Schaefer is responsible for the marketing, advertising, public relations, trade association involvement, legislative activities, and special events for FNB.
As an attorney, Schaefer focuses primarily on insurance defense litigation, including catastrophic loss and wrongful death, as well as the defense of national manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of consumer products involved in construction, mining and industrial accidents.
“Enhancing client services will be a paramount goal for us this year,” began Schaefer. “As a firm with over 100 combined years of litigation experience, we have a great deal of knowledge to share with our clients,” she said.
An Order of the Coif and Order of Barristers graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, Schaefer served as an executive board member for the West Virginia University Law Review. She is actively involved in various professional memberships and civic organizations including the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, and the Product Liability and Insurance Law committees for the Defense Research Institute. Schaefer is also a member of Generation Charleston.

(Charleston, WV) – Francis, Nelson & Brison is pleased to announce the re-election of leadership within the law firm.
R. Ford Francis has been named Chief Executive Officer, David F. Nelson has been named Chief Financial Officer, and M. Andrew Brison has been named Chief Operations Officer (effective January 1, 2010).
As attorneys, Ford Francis has extensive experience with insurance defense litigation, including matters involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, toxic torts, products liability, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, civil rights and insurance bad faith. A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College (B.A.), and West Virginia University College of Law, Francis is a member of Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, Defense Research Institute, and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
David Nelson focuses on commercial, product liability and premises liability litigation; state, local and municipal law; personal injury defense, insurance first party litigation, residential fire losses, medical malpractice, wrongful termination and wrongful death. A graduate of Randolph-Macon College (B.A.), and the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, Nelson is a frequent instructor and lecturer in legal education seminars, most recently on the topics of insurance defense practice and insurance coverage law.
Andy Brison is an experienced trial lawyer, having served as lead local trial counsel for a Fortune 200 insurance company, and litigates many matters involving insurance defense, insurance coverage and commercial disputes. A former prosecutor, Brison provides services to defend government clients. Brison is a graduate of Marshall University (B.A., M.S.), and West Virginia University College of Law, and also serves as the Municipal Judge for the City of Milton, West Virginia, a position he has held for over a decade.
